Thrilling ATV ride in the jungle

Thrilling ATV ride in the jungle

On my first weekend in KL, some friends and I decided to go on a very special trip on the edge of the city. Located in the jungle northeast of KL, there is an ATV adventure park offering 5 different exciting packages of ATV jungle riding. The packages start from RM 50.00 (1/2 hour ride) to RM 300,00 (3-4 hours offroad ride). It was really much fun and I would go for it any time again. The ATVs have a 150 ccm strong engine and quite a lot of power to overcome the challenging offroad ride.

          How much is it?

Depends on the package you choose: Check http://www.atvadventurepark.com/package.htm

          How to get there:

Getting to the spot by public transport was quite difficult. You can take the LRT to Wangsa Maju (RM 2.30 from KL Sentral) and take a cab over there. However, we had big problems to find a taxi driver who is willing to drive to the ATV park, because he can’t find a customer back. Fortunately and Indian guy picked us up after we negotiated a RM 30.00 deal. I guess you probably find nobody driving with meter. To make him understand the way, it is useful to go to the ATV’s website and download the map on your smartphone to show it to the cab driver. Actually you have to go to Zoo Negara and drive all the way up to the jungle.

          How to get back:

Ask the owner of the ATV park to bring you back to the zoo with his 4×4.

Make sure that you call the ATV park and make a reservation before you go over there.

How to get around in Malaysia

One of the easiest way is to rent a car. It’s not the cheapest way but the fastest and most comfortable one. Especially when you are going to places where you need a car to get around (eg. Cameron Highlands). I can highly recommend the Paradies Car Rental Company located in KL.  They offer the best prices and a very good service. They even deliver the car to the Millennium Square if you ask them for. They are always on time and I had never any problems with them.

          Battlefield Kuala Lumpur

          Battlefield Kuala Lumpur

In Kuala Lumpur, there are plenty of Paintball fields where you can have a lot of fun with your friends. One of them is Xtion-Paintball in Bukit Jalil (near the big stadiums), where some friends and I have been last Friday on public holiday. There are several fields which you can choose from and you get briefed on the rental equipment and rules. We decided to play 2 on 2 in the “Capture the flag” mode. Both teams, only separated from each other by a no man’s land area, had to shoot two bottles of the counter team first. Once this goal achieved, you are allowed to capture your own two flags on your playground and bring them back to your base. If you run out of pellets, just raise your hand so nobody will shoot you any longer and you can buy further pellets from your field supervisor.

          How much is it?

Depends on how many pellets you need:

Basic package includes 100 pellets and is RM 30,00.

          Check http://www.xtionpaintball.com/products.htm

          How to get there:

Getting to the spot by public transport is very comfortable and cheap but takes at least 1 hour from Millenium Square. You can take the LRT to Bukit Jalil (RM 3.90 from Asia Jaya) and walk from station to the nearby location.

However, I would recommend to call the provider before you go over there.

Enjoy the life in Malaysia – Langkawi

Some friends and I decided to go to Pulau Langkawi for a weekend. And there we found the true paradises. It’s definitely one of the nicest island in Malaysia. You can do a lot of activities there, like jet ski, atv-trips or jungle-trekking. I highly recommend to rent a scooter (30Rm/Day) and drive around the island. Then you can find all the lonely beaches and secret spots and even some very beautiful waterfalls.

          How much is it:

Langkawi is a dutyfree island, so food and beer are very cheap there. Make sure you book a few weeks ahead and the hotels should be affordable as well.

          How to get there:

          By Bus:

Form Singapore, Johor and Kuala Lumpur, there are buses running daily to Alor Setar/Kuala Kedah. Please contact local bus operators for more information. Another option is by rail, KTM (Keretapi Tanah Melayu) starts its journey from Singapore with interchange in Kuala Lumpur and then all the way down to Alor Star Train Station and Arau. From Alor Setar Train Station to Kuala Kedah Jetty Terminal with taxi (RM18.00). From Arau to Kuala Perlis Ferry Terminal with taxi (RM12.00).

          By flight:

          From Kuala Lumpur

Fire Flyz have only 1 flight daily

          Malaysia Airline 5 flight Daily

Air Asia Provide 7 flight Daily

Make sure you book a few weeks ahead. Flights are much cheaper than last minute.
